Approximately 60 percent of the sample received the version of the questionnaire that was consistent with prior years, where the section introduction included the definition "All gangs, whether or not they are involved in violent or illegal activity, are included." The remaining 40 percent of the sample received the alternate questionnaire, which excluded the definition. Estimates in this table include all respondents, regardless of which version of the questionnaire they received.
